Tulle Blossoms

This tutorial makes it so, so easy to add some interest to a plain old tree branch - by making circular shapes of tulle fabric and scrunching them up to look like blossoms - cute!

Easter Makes

I have a couple of cracking egg-themed makes for you today (pun intended!):

First, we have my favourite craft technique at the moment, which involves using starch to make yarn hold its shape as it is wrapped around a balloon. It has some great results, and the egg-shaped yarn sculptures can be hung up as shown above - go here for the tutorial.

And secondly, you can colour eggs with food colouring so that they take on a gorgeous marbled effect. I think these look amazing, and they seem fun to do too - go here to find out how it's done :-)

Time to Snuggle Up

You've probably seen these around on shopping sites etc, and now there is a pattern here to make one yourself.

The concept is very simple - it's basically a big piece of fleece with sleeves - and you can snuggle in it 'til your heart's content!

Photo Cuffs

These cuffs are pretty funky, and you can print anything on them - from decorative photos to song lyrics, or your own doodles, you can be very creative with them. They are made using inkjet-printable canvas and they have a felt backing - go here for instructions.

Cake Wrecks

Oh my. I never knew cakes quite as terrible as this existed, but actually they are in plentiful supply - enough to fill a blog in fact. Who would have thought cakes would be so funny?!

Cupcake Inspiration

This post is a bit random but when I saw these cakes - yes, cakes (!) - I knew I had to mention them on my blog. There are no recipes given, but all you need are basic cupcake recipes (vanilla and chocolate), differently coloured frosting and green dessicated coconut for the lettuce - genius!

Glass Bubble Lamp

Steel Wool Sparks

This experiment would certainly liven up any Bonfire night . . . and to see the sparks fly, all you need is steel wool, wire and a lighter! 

This should only be attempted by careful over-18's :-)

Stencilling A Mirror

This tutorial from Design*Sponge really jazzes up a plain mirror, and it is achieved simply using contact paper and acrylic paint - and then if you later decide you don't like the design anymore, the paint can be scraped off and you can start again!
