When I went on a tourist's tour of Edinburgh, the famous Jekyll and Hyde pub was pointed out, and the tour guide told us that the toilets are hidden behind a bookcase - how cool!
Now, this type of quirky thing is definitely up my street, so naturally I had a look for a tutorial on the internet, and found a guide here and here. For more inspiration, have a look here too.
This project has lots of scope for imagination and ingenuity - I personally would have to have the bookcase door opening by pulling on a funny-titled book, and perhaps to make it easier to make, I would put castors on the bottom of the bookcase and diguise them somehow. Either way, in my dream world, this bookcase would lead to a library :-)

When i was about 8 years old my parents looked at buying a house with a secret bookcase room. We didn't end up moving there but i have wanted one ever since! So much fun!
