How To Take Better Product & Blog Photos

Photo and lightbox by Kirby Kerr.
If you sell products online or you blog about food/fashion/your life, then clear and bright photos are one of the most important things you will need, if not the most important.
So I've compiled a resource of information, advice, tips, DIY lightbox tutorials, and ideas for setting up a mini photo studio at home - and you can see my page HERE. I hope it helps you out, because I know that I really struggle myself with making my photos look anywhere near professional :)

DIY Light Stencils

I've seen lots of bokeh tutorials around but I've not seen a light stencils one before, and I'm surprised because the effect looks amazing and I didn't even know this was a thing that was possible!

Steel Wool Light Painting

This light painting photo technique looks so cool (and kinda dangerous!) - who would have thought it cost less than $10 to do and didn't need any post production?
Take a look at the instructions here.

Flower Petal Art Print

I own Photoshop but have barely scratched the surface of what I can do with it yet - but I reckon this should be one of my first projects. You gather flower petals, assemble them into a word, photograph the word and upload it onto the PC, and then edit it in Photoshop to make a lovely unique print.

If you made a whole flower petal alphabet like this that would be one awesome font!

Also, Happy Valentine's Day! (even for singletons like me :))

Bokeh Photograph Cards

Gorgeous idea for cards; cut-out letters from the front and place a photo behind - the above one uses a photo of bokeh which I think is very effective.

Photography Sparkle Reflector

This fun idea of using mirror tiles to add sparkle to your photographs would be especially interesting to try at Christmas - to make good use of the multi-coloured Christmas lights!

Tile Tree Mosaic

This is one of the best wall art tutorials I have seen - the finish looks so professional, it is a project that requires skill and patience... and it looks pretty too!

Photoshop Bokeh Effect

I've always loved the bokeh effect on photos - especially when the subject is a summery one - and you can find out on this page how you can create the effect yourself on Photoshop.

Wordy Portrait

If you're looking for a fun technique to try on your Photoshop software, why not create word-filled art from a portrait photo? I think it would make an interesting piece of wall art too.

Making Cinemagraphs

This (slightly creepy) technique lets you make photos with moving sections - sort of a cross between a video and a photo. To see how it's done, click here.
